Description
21K BTU VSD Smart 115V Marine Air Conditioner Unit Brushless Variable Speed Soft Start Reverse-Cycle Heat Self-contained VSD air conditioners provide the best existing technology: compressor with brushless DC motor and inverter that constantly controls speed and delivers cooling power (Variable Speed Drive); reverse blade brushless fan; electronic expansion valve. • Constant Flow technology fan (i10 and i16 only)• Twin Rotary compressors• 21.
000 BTU/h max output. The compressor continuously changes its running speed depending on the ambient and set temperatures.
It operates at maximum power to cool the cabins rapidly, but once it reaches the set temperature, it reduces the power and electric consumption. In this way, it maintains the optimal comfort level with the minimum consumption.
The inverter works between 20 and 100 Hz. Self-contained-VSD VELAIR units meet EMC 2004/108/EC directives.

Marine Plumbing & Ventilation — frequently asked
- How do I size a bilge pump?
- Bilge pumps are rated in gallons per hour (GPH), but actual output is lower once you account for hose length and vertical lift. Choose a pump rated well above your expected worst-case water intrusion, and consider a second, higher-capacity pump plus a float switch for automatic operation.
- Can I use regular garden hose for my boat’s water system?
- No. Marine plumbing uses purpose-built hose rated for the specific system — potable water, sanitation, and raw-water/bilge hoses differ in pressure rating, temperature resistance, and permeation. Using the wrong hose causes odors, leaks, or contamination.
- Why is ventilation important on a boat?
- Ventilation clears moisture that causes mildew and rot, and — critically on gasoline boats — clears fuel vapors from the engine compartment before starting. Blowers, cowl vents, and dorade boxes keep air moving through cabin and engine spaces for safety and comfort.
