Reduce dust and noise – Easy removal Effectively allows multiple stubborn layers to be removed Marine Grade: DCM & NMP free* PropOne Silicone Remover is designed to remove PropOne Clear Coat. It can also be used as a general-purpose silicone remover to remove thin coatings.
PropOne Paint Stripper will remove paints, varnishes, and lacquers. It is primarily to be used with PropOne Silicone Remover for the removal of PropOne Primer Coat.
Do not use on plastic surfaces or resin-impregnated wood fibreboard materials. For plastics and other delicate surfaces, test a small area first to ensure Silicone Remover & Paint Stripper does not affect the underlying substrate.
Application: Apply Paint Stripper approximately 2mm thick using a brush or roller Leave in contact for at least 15 minutes or until softened Scrape off the coating with slight pressure and appropriately dispose of waste. A wire brush, strong scourer, or paint scraping tool is recommended.
If any coating remains after scraping, apply a second coat. Wipe off any remaining residue with an acetone-soaked cloth, then hose down the surface to leave a bright metal surface.
*Does not contain toxic Dichloromethane and N-Methylpyrrolldone

Boat Outfitting — frequently asked
- What material should marine hardware be made of?
- For most exposed hardware, 316 stainless steel is the marine standard — it resists salt corrosion far better than 304 stainless or plated steel. Marine-grade aluminum, UV-stabilized nylon, and King StarBoard are also common for non-structural fittings.
- How do I know a replacement seat or hatch will fit?
- Measure the mounting pattern (bolt spacing), the cutout or base dimensions, and any post diameter or height on the part you’re replacing. Match those to the new part’s specs — outfitting parts follow common sizes but are not universal, so confirming dimensions avoids returns.
- Do I need backing plates for deck hardware?
- For anything that takes load — grab rails, cleats, ladder steps, seat pedestals — yes. A backing plate spreads the load across a larger area of the deck or transom so fasteners don’t pull through under stress.
