Description
NP-24 Nav-Pac - 24V Marine communication and navigation electronics such as programmable data transceivers, GPS, and other microprocessor-controlled devices require clean and steady DC input power. Their sensitive circuitry is highly vulnerable to voltage drops from engine starts, noise and line spikes from alternators and motors, and noise from various other electronic devices.
NAV-PAC prevents these conditions from affecting electronics. Features: Prevents voltage “drop-out” during engine start and/or other high intermittent loads such as Thrusters Absorbs line “spikes” Filters out electrical interference Provides supplemental voltage and battery backup for up to 15 min.
Optional remote panel (773-5037-0) Specifications: Output: 24 Volt @ 15 amps max. Battery: Sealed Rechargeable 5.
0 Amp-Hour, 5-7 years of typical life, can be replaced. A low-voltage disconnect circuit protects the battery from total discharge.
Certified by DOT and IATA for shipment by air. Noise Filtering: Audio through 200 MHZ Voltage Spike Protection: Transient energy capability; 100 Joules, 4,000 amps Max (8 x 20 microseconds) Back-Up Power: 8A for 15 minutes, 12A for 8 minutes, and 18A for 2 minutes Size: 6.

Electrical — frequently asked
- What’s the difference between marine wire and regular wire?
- Marine wire uses tinned (tin-coated) copper strands that resist the corrosion salt air causes, and it’s more finely stranded so it flexes with vibration without breaking. Standard automotive or household wire corrodes and fails much faster in a marine environment.
- How do I size a fuse for a marine circuit?
- Size the fuse to protect the wire, not just the device. Match the fuse rating to the wire gauge’s safe current capacity so the fuse blows before the wire overheats. When adding a new circuit, follow the wire manufacturer’s ampacity chart for the gauge and run length you’re using.
- Do I need a battery switch on my boat?
- A marine battery switch is strongly recommended. It lets you disconnect the battery for storage or service, isolate a failed battery, and — on multi-battery setups — choose which bank powers the boat. It’s a core safety and reliability component.
