Description

Anchor Safety Strap - 18" Safety straps will prevent the Anchor from deploying if the Anchor is unintentionally released or powers out accidentally. It is simply clipped on the chain, shackle, or Anchor.

They do not secure (hold tight) the Anchor in the bow roller. Lewmar recommends securing the anchor to the boat when not in use.

The windlass is not designed to hold the anchor to the boat when not in use. Technical Specifications: Material - Stainless Steel Length - 18" *Sold as an Individual

Anchoring & Docking — frequently asked

What size anchor do I need for my boat?
Anchor sizing is based on boat length, weight, and windage, and every anchor maker publishes a sizing chart. When in doubt, size up — a slightly oversized anchor holds better in poor bottoms and heavy weather, and the extra weight is minor next to the risk of dragging.
How much anchor rode (scope) should I let out?
A common rule is 7:1 — seven feet of rode for every foot of water depth (measured from the bow roller) in settled conditions, and more when it’s rough. Adequate scope sets the anchor at a low angle so it digs in rather than pulling out.
How do I choose the right dock fenders?
Match fender size to your boat’s length and weight (makers provide charts), and use enough of them to spread contact along the hull. Cylindrical fenders suit most hulls; round ball fenders suit high-freeboard boats and corners. Add chafe gear where lines run over edges.
