Description

F4B-9 Impeller Pump OEM - Flange Mount Flexible impeller pumps, F-series, provide an efficient solution to most raw water pumping needs. The primary advantage of a flexible impeller pump is its self-priming ability.

As the vanes of the impeller are depressed and rebound, they create their own vacuum drawing fluid into the pump. A dry pump can lift the water up to as much as 3 meters.

Thus a flexible impeller pump being used for engine cooling needs not to be located below the water line or manually primed. An added feature of flexible impeller pumps is that they can pass fairly large solids without clogging or damaging the pump.

This reduces the need for filtering the incoming fluid. For general raw or freshwater applications, the standard long-lasting neoprene rubber impeller is used.

Both the impeller and the seals depend upon the water for lubrication and will soon burn out if run dry. Features: Flange mount for engines such as: Panda 12000 NE PMS Kubota, Panda 6000 ND PMS Kubota, Panda 8000 NE PMS Kubota, Panda 9000 ND PMS Kubota A general feature of all flexible impeller pumps is that they cannot be permitted to run dry for more than 30 seconds Wearing parts are easily replaceable for all standard models Applications: Engine cooling – raw water handling Freshwater handling Specifications: Port size: (inch) 3/4" hose Mount Type: Flange CAM: Full 1/1 Lip seal Material: Bronze Cooling Capacity: The required output of the cooling pump – raw water as well as fresh water handling – is related to: Engine type: (gasoline or diesel) Type of cooling system (size of heat exchanger) Water cooled engine oil, reverse gear, exhaust system *Sold as an Individual

Marine Plumbing & Ventilation — frequently asked

How do I size a bilge pump?
Bilge pumps are rated in gallons per hour (GPH), but actual output is lower once you account for hose length and vertical lift. Choose a pump rated well above your expected worst-case water intrusion, and consider a second, higher-capacity pump plus a float switch for automatic operation.
Can I use regular garden hose for my boat’s water system?
No. Marine plumbing uses purpose-built hose rated for the specific system — potable water, sanitation, and raw-water/bilge hoses differ in pressure rating, temperature resistance, and permeation. Using the wrong hose causes odors, leaks, or contamination.
Why is ventilation important on a boat?
Ventilation clears moisture that causes mildew and rot, and — critically on gasoline boats — clears fuel vapors from the engine compartment before starting. Blowers, cowl vents, and dorade boxes keep air moving through cabin and engine spaces for safety and comfort.
