Description
Boomstrut - Silver/White for Boats 25-30' Boomstrut 44030 is designed for boats 7. 5m – 9m (25ft – 30ft) in length with a maximum boom tip weight of 15kg (33 lbs).
Working alongside the existing kicker or rope vang it creates upward lift on the boom to keep the desired sail shape even in light winds. Manufactured with white rods and Spectro Anodised boom and mast fittings.
The uplift created means that the boom will not fall onto the boat when the sail is lowered, or the topping lift is released or removed. Suitable to be used with wooden, carbon fibre or aluminium spars.
Six sizes to suit yachts up to 12m/40ft LOA Patented flexing spring provides fast response and a constant force for vang efficiency The boomstrut’s lightweight, low-profile design features two flexible coated fibreglass rods which provide the force to support the boom. Pulling the boom down with a conventional kicker causes the Boomstrut to flex; releasing straightens the rods, thereby lifting and supporting the boom.
Maintenance-free, durable design Eliminates friction and sliding parts. Improved performance Less weight and windage.
Easy installation There’s no need to replace your existing hardware – the Boomstrut mounts independently inside the existing kicking strap tackle. Simple to follow instructions The Boomstrut is supplied with complete fitting instructions and more comprehensive details are available here on our website.
Mast fitting can use existing luff groove To eliminate drilling, the Boomstrut’s mast bracket can be slotted into your mast’s luff groove. Contoured boom fitting The Boomstrut’s boom bracket is contoured to fit both round and flat boom profiles.
Carefully designed & constructed The Barton Boomstrut has been carefully designed and constructed to eliminate sharp edges, minimise parts and provide trouble-free installation and use. All parts are from high grade stainless steel and black or grey anodised aluminium for good looks and durability.

Sailing — frequently asked
- How do I size a block for my sailboat?
- Match the block to the line diameter it will carry and to the working and breaking loads of the system (sheet, halyard, control line). Makers publish load ratings and line-size ranges — choose a block whose working load comfortably exceeds the real-world load, without going so large it adds needless weight.
- What is running rigging?
- Running rigging is the moving lines that control the sails — sheets, halyards, and control lines — as opposed to standing rigging (the fixed wire that holds up the mast). Running rigging should be matched to the boat’s blocks, clutches, and winches for smooth, reliable sail handling.
- How do I maintain sailboat winches and hardware?
- Rinse with fresh water after sailing, keep sheaves and bearings clean, and periodically service winches (disassemble, clean, and re-grease per the maker’s instructions). Marine-grade stainless and good maintenance keep hardware working smoothly when loads are high and timing matters.
