Description

Digital Depth & Battery Gauge The FL Digital Depth Indicator is the first digital display to show depth at all times when your Vexilar flasher is on while still being able to get the status of your battery with the touch of the button. The FL Digital Depth Indicator (model DD-100) gives anglers what they have been asking for, Digital Depth.

Now you can easily and quickly attach the FL Digital Depth Indicator to your transducer cable from your FL series Flasher sonar and get an instant digital depth reading. Designed to fit in place of the popular D-130 or T-130 battery indicators, Vexilar has been selling for years.

You can easily outfit your Pro Pack, Ultra Pack or Genz Pack with the DD-100. The DD-100 not only gives you digital depth, but also gives you the battery status by pressing a button.

When not in use, the DD-100 goes to sleep, so you no longer have to worry about draining your battery when not in use. Installation is easy.

Simply unplug your transducer from the back of your Vexilar and plug into the DD-100 connector. Take the other end of the DD-100 and plug it into the back of your Vexilar.

Attach the red power lead from the FL Digital Depth Indicator to the positive terminal post of your battery. A piggy-back terminal has been provided for easy connection to the Genz or Pro Pack.

If you have an Ultra pack, please go to the Vexilar web site for detailed mounting instructions. Finally, place the FL Digital Depth Indicator where the old battery indicator was and attach with either plastic push pins or use a small bolt and lock nut.

Electrical — frequently asked

What’s the difference between marine wire and regular wire?
Marine wire uses tinned (tin-coated) copper strands that resist the corrosion salt air causes, and it’s more finely stranded so it flexes with vibration without breaking. Standard automotive or household wire corrodes and fails much faster in a marine environment.
How do I size a fuse for a marine circuit?
Size the fuse to protect the wire, not just the device. Match the fuse rating to the wire gauge’s safe current capacity so the fuse blows before the wire overheats. When adding a new circuit, follow the wire manufacturer’s ampacity chart for the gauge and run length you’re using.
Do I need a battery switch on my boat?
A marine battery switch is strongly recommended. It lets you disconnect the battery for storage or service, isolate a failed battery, and — on multi-battery setups — choose which bank powers the boat. It’s a core safety and reliability component.
