Description

Anchor Rode - 15' of 7mm Chain & 300' of 1/2" Rope 15' of 7mm Chain, 300' of 1/2" Rope. Slim Splice Quick System Rope & Chain An anchor-rode is the connection system between the anchor and the boat, and its sturdiness during mooring is undoubtedly essential.

The critical point of the rope and chain combination is the joint, or technically speaking, the splice. In Quick's Slim Splice, the splice is much slimmer and more tapered, preventing the jamming which often occurs on the gypsy, during changeover from rope to chain.

Quick's Slim Splice consists of a calibrated chain and a top quality 3-strand polyester rope, to guarantee optimum strength and life.

Anchoring & Docking — frequently asked

What size anchor do I need for my boat?
Anchor sizing is based on boat length, weight, and windage, and every anchor maker publishes a sizing chart. When in doubt, size up — a slightly oversized anchor holds better in poor bottoms and heavy weather, and the extra weight is minor next to the risk of dragging.
How much anchor rode (scope) should I let out?
A common rule is 7:1 — seven feet of rode for every foot of water depth (measured from the bow roller) in settled conditions, and more when it’s rough. Adequate scope sets the anchor at a low angle so it digs in rather than pulling out.
How do I choose the right dock fenders?
Match fender size to your boat’s length and weight (makers provide charts), and use enough of them to spread contact along the hull. Cylindrical fenders suit most hulls; round ball fenders suit high-freeboard boats and corners. Add chafe gear where lines run over edges.
