Description

6/2 AWG Duplex Cable - Flat Cable - Red/Black - 100' Duplex Boat Cable is used in low voltage AC applications as well as DC circuits. Pacer manufactures 6 AWG Duplex boat cable in house in the USA for the best quality.

First, the cable is built from finely stranded, Type III tinned copper conductors. These conductors allow for flexibility and help to prevent corrosion.

The PVC jacket helps 6 AWG Duplex Boat Cable to be flexible while preventing moisture from accumulating. How does it do that?

During the extrusion process, the spaces between wires are filled. This leaves no space for moisture or air to accumulate.

After that, a talcum powder coating is given to the interior wires. This coating is used to allow the outer jacket to be easily removed.

Just another reason 6 AWG Duplex boat cable is perfect for marine use. Pacer's marine wire exceeds the requirements and standards of UL, ABYC, and NMMA.

Electrical — frequently asked

What’s the difference between marine wire and regular wire?
Marine wire uses tinned (tin-coated) copper strands that resist the corrosion salt air causes, and it’s more finely stranded so it flexes with vibration without breaking. Standard automotive or household wire corrodes and fails much faster in a marine environment.
How do I size a fuse for a marine circuit?
Size the fuse to protect the wire, not just the device. Match the fuse rating to the wire gauge’s safe current capacity so the fuse blows before the wire overheats. When adding a new circuit, follow the wire manufacturer’s ampacity chart for the gauge and run length you’re using.
Do I need a battery switch on my boat?
A marine battery switch is strongly recommended. It lets you disconnect the battery for storage or service, isolate a failed battery, and — on multi-battery setups — choose which bank powers the boat. It’s a core safety and reliability component.
