Description
MIT 100 Inflatable PFD - Orange/Black 500 Denier Cordura® outer shell is used to increase durability. The waist belt adjusts to accommodate outer layers, while large arm cutouts allow easy mobility.
It automatically deploys when submerged, and a manual inflation cord allows the wearer to inflate it without submersion. The inflated bladder displays high visibility reflectivity and delivers approximately 28 lb of buoyancy.

- What safety equipment is legally required on my boat?
- Requirements vary by boat length and operating area but generally include a Coast Guard-approved life jacket for each person, fire extinguisher(s) of the correct class, visual distress signals, and a sound-producing device. Confirm the exact list for your boat’s size and where you operate.
- How many life jackets do I need?
- You need at least one properly fitted, Coast Guard-approved life jacket (PFD) for every person aboard, and boats 16 feet and over generally also need a throwable flotation device. Fit matters — a PFD that fits and is worn is what actually saves lives.
- Do marine flares and fire extinguishers expire?
- Yes. Pyrotechnic flares have an expiration date (typically about 42 months) and must be replaced, and fire extinguishers must be within date, charged, and undamaged. Check both on a schedule and replace anything expired — required safety gear only counts if it’s current.
