Description

Basic Triple Mercury Engine Keyless Ignition Keyless Start/Stop with Pin The Basic version of CoastKey has a start panel that provides keyless access to the boat. In addition to the control box and cables, it includes a Start Panel mounted at the steering position.

To “unlock,” you enter a PIN code instead of using an ignition key. The obvious advantage of this solution is that you have keyless access to the boat, and if there are several people using the boat, everyone has the same access without having to have their own keys.

It is easy to change the PIN code to restrict access, for example, after renting out the boat. CoastKey is installed instead of, or in parallel with, the existing ignition key, and you can still use the existing lanyard cord.

Features: Keyless Start Start Panel Engine Box Plug & Play Cable If you have a newer Mercury brand engine, installation is incredibly easy. The CoastKey Start Panel fits right into the same hole as the ignition switch and the connectors on the included cable fit right into the existing wiring harness.

Truly PLUG & PLAY.

Marine Safety — frequently asked

What safety equipment is legally required on my boat?
Requirements vary by boat length and operating area but generally include a Coast Guard-approved life jacket for each person, fire extinguisher(s) of the correct class, visual distress signals, and a sound-producing device. Confirm the exact list for your boat’s size and where you operate.
How many life jackets do I need?
You need at least one properly fitted, Coast Guard-approved life jacket (PFD) for every person aboard, and boats 16 feet and over generally also need a throwable flotation device. Fit matters — a PFD that fits and is worn is what actually saves lives.
Do marine flares and fire extinguishers expire?
Yes. Pyrotechnic flares have an expiration date (typically about 42 months) and must be replaced, and fire extinguishers must be within date, charged, and undamaged. Check both on a schedule and replace anything expired — required safety gear only counts if it’s current.
