Pathfinder™ PRO Optional Mounting Pole for SART The optional Mounting Pole for ACR's Pathfinder™ PRO Search and Rescue Transponder (SART). The SART complies with IMO SOLAS regulations and has a superior lithium battery that provides over 96 hours of operating life in standby mode, and 12 hours of active operating life.
The compact Pathfinder PRO has a sleek wall mount that keeps it out of your way, yet readily accessible in an emergency. A SART is mandatory for all commercial vessels that must conform to GMDSS, and any vessel carrying more than one life raft.

- What safety equipment is legally required on my boat?
- Requirements vary by boat length and operating area but generally include a Coast Guard-approved life jacket for each person, fire extinguisher(s) of the correct class, visual distress signals, and a sound-producing device. Confirm the exact list for your boat’s size and where you operate.
- How many life jackets do I need?
- You need at least one properly fitted, Coast Guard-approved life jacket (PFD) for every person aboard, and boats 16 feet and over generally also need a throwable flotation device. Fit matters — a PFD that fits and is worn is what actually saves lives.
- Do marine flares and fire extinguishers expire?
- Yes. Pyrotechnic flares have an expiration date (typically about 42 months) and must be replaced, and fire extinguishers must be within date, charged, and undamaged. Check both on a schedule and replace anything expired — required safety gear only counts if it’s current.
